Waltham Forest Beacon - Mental Health Drop-in Support

Waltham Forest Beacon is a free emotional wellbeing support service for individuals aged 18 and over, offering help during evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. The service provides a calm, inclusive, and welcoming environment where people living in Waltham Forest can drop in, feel supported, and take time for themselves—no appointment needed.

Waltham Forest Beacon (this name was developed in collaboration with NELFT service users, reflecting their voices, experiences, and hopes for a welcoming and supportive space within the borough) is run by Hestia in partnership with NELFT. 

Support includes:

  • Advice, information, referrals and signposting to helpful services
  • Drop-in sessions for moments when someone needs to talk
  • Planned one-to-one support - by telephone or in person
  • Support to create a personalised recovery plan for future wellbeing
  • Emotional support from trained peer workers with lived experience
  • Telephone interpreter support for those who need it

It is based at The Mill, 7 - 11 Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, E17 7HA.

Opening hours are:

  • Weekdays: 5:30pm – 10:00pm
  • Weekends & Bank Holidays: 3:00pm – 10:00pm
