Need to cancel your hospital appointment?

Last year, 1 in 8 patients missed their appointments without letting the hospital know. That meant hundreds of thousands of wasted slots, significant costs to the NHS, and, most importantly, vulnerable patients waiting longer for the care they need.

Barts Health's campaign - Your call, your care - helps patients attend, cancel or reschedule their appointments.

Barts Health are using text message appointment reminders to give you enough time to plan ahead if things needs to change.

If you miss one appointment, the hospital will try to rearrange it. But if you miss two appointments or turn down two reasonable offers without letting them know, you may be discharged back to your GP. This doesn’t apply if you’re a child, a vulnerable adult, or a doctor decides it isn’t safe.

Barts may offer you an appointment at a different hospital where you can be seen quicker.
