Get involved with Outpatient communications project

Barts Health NHS Trust have identified that a significant contributor to patients not attending appointments has been due to process failings. Whether through not communicating appointment details properly or failing to meet accessible information standards.

They are looking at conducting a broader review of how they communicate with patients and referrers. Whether through reviewing their correspondence with patients, ensuring they are making the best use of technology or ensuring they understand what medium their patients want to receive communications from them.

They very much want this project to be co-produced with patients and patients representative groups, so if you would like to get involved, please contact Dr Conor Byrne (conor.byrne1@nhs.net) who is leading this piece of work. He is a Consultant Nephrologist and Chair of the Outpatient Transformation – Improvement workstream.
