#StarsInMemory COVID-19 Event

June 29, 2020

The My Home Life team from the School of Health Sciences at the City University of London want to share the #StarsInMemory event with you.

If you have experienced loss and bereavement during COVID-19, you are invited to make a star, display it on your window and post on social media on Tuesday June 30 with the hashtag #StarsInMemory. The event aims to unite people together in loss and commemoration and we hope that it brings participants comfort.

The UK Council of Psychotherapy are also kindly providing a limited offer of free counselling for care workers. If you are interested, please contact Adam Jones on policyukcp@ukcp.org.uk.

Community engagement – without opening the door!

We’ve created new Care Home FaNs resources to help you to connect with your community safely during lockdown.

Take a look at our ‘Help spread kindness’ posters and social media post, and our ideas sheet that you can give to potential volunteers.

COVID-19 and BAME communities

We value how Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic residents, relatives and staff enrich community life in care homes. We’re also aware of the unequal impact of COVID-19 on these communities. We are interested in hearing stories about what others have done to help you feel safe, so that we can share best practice more widely, as well as helping us to reflect on how we can bring more focus on equality, diversity and human rights.
