Awful

January 4, 2024
I was referred after I attended hospital for mental health related reasons. I have been waiting on end to be seen to, keep getting told someone will call me and no one does. I suffer with severe mental health issues and no support what so ever.

Left in the lurch, team supporting me closed

April 21, 2023
I’ve been left in the lurch for months on end. Promised support with housing, nothing gets back to me. Brief intervention teams closed and I have no point of call and haven’t be allocated a case worker. Suffer from severe mental health problems and suicidal thoughts. No support at all just sent from pillar to post.

Lack of consistency and poor involvement

November 8, 2022
I have been with this team for 3 years. I don’t think ‘brief intervention’ is the right name for this service. Is is usually staffed by revolving trainee psychiatrists. I don’t have an issue with the skills of trainee psychiatrists - the issue is I never see the same person because of this, which affects the relationship and continuity of care for been. Some psychiatrists have been good, others less so - although I might be judging harshly because I struggle with the lack of consistency. I feel like we are just going through the motions with many of my appointments. They don’t copy patients in to GP letters following the appointment. This is a huge issue for me - it is poor practice and against Royal College of Psychiatrists guidance. I feel really uninvolved in my care, disempowered as a patient and not respected because of this. I don’t have records of any conversations/appointments from the last 3 years because of this and can’t check accuracy of these (and I know there are some inaccuracies because of things doctors have told me - some things have been muddled between different doctors). They also weren’t very responsive when I got in touch in between appointments.
