later i rang to see what was happening and was told doctor needed more info.. I got the info and delivered it the same day. A week later i rang again only to find nothing had been done. It
wasnt even known if the Doctor had seen the information. Eventually I was informed that the referal had been made. But if i hadnt been proactive i would still be waiting.
Once i needed an urgent appointment and was given one in 2 weeks time. After phoning 111 , I was triaged and told that I must be seen that day. 111phoned the surgery and insisted I was seen that day and I was after 2 hours waiting.
The reception staff make too many decisions themselves without reference to the doctors.
to get through on the telephone is infuriating. You can be hanging on for 50 minutes or more. We have had to resort to calling 111 on some occasions when there has been an emergency and we have not been able to get through.
