I have tried to call Whipps Cross

Ear, Nose and Throat
April 11, 2024
I called the contact centre at Whipps Cross Hospital on the number they gave me which is 028 539552. I’ve told him I tried several times on different phone numbers and still they do not put me through. They did not give me an alternative number. I have to check on the website to get this number (020) 8535 6438 and it just rings and ring. No alternative for contact for ENT department. I have waited three months to Appointment, so I can cancel and Chain for a different time. I think this is a pin secondly, no one calls you back, just put the phone down and still continue giving me the same numbers what do I do?

Absolutely impossible to get a hold of

Gynaecology
December 1, 2023
I have been trying to get a hold of the gyne/ /admissions team every day for 2 weeks now. When I call the number provided, no one answers, when the switchboard puts me through, no one answers. How can there be no one at reception/ near the phone and unable to answer multiple times a day for weeks?

TRIAGE MATERNITY STAFF Appalling service

Maternity
August 11, 2023
Too many triage staff just sitting there and laughing. Not bothered with the pregnant women waiting.
But when they see you they seem miserable. Some drs are ok but some are lazy and do not bother doing a thorough check. The triage is a waste of money on NHS. The other system was better.

Visited antenatal clinic for arranged appoint

April 6, 2023
Booked in for growth review appointment at antenatal clinic following advice of a triage appointment the previous week (doctor advice). Attended today, waited for 3hrs with a lack of communication on reason for delay. Have been told that the receptionist at triage appointment booked in our appointment (because she couldn't find the person to book it in for her) into a slot for midwife smoking relating clinic day. This wasn't the reason for our appointment and it appears the receptionist booked it in that day in the 'hope' a doctor would be available to review the babies growth. Therefore we have been placed into a situation we didn't need to be in and wasted 3hrs of our time. There appears to be a severe lack of communication between the midwifery departments, and people don't leave notes to inform the next person who deals with it.

Twin labour turnt in serious emergency

Maternity
June 25, 2021
My consultant made me be induced at 37 weeks, I went in wasted a day, the next day the scanned me and none of the babies was in the birth canal, both level out of the birth canal, they basically wasn’t ready. They induced me anyway for natural labour. 3rd labour the other 2 drug free, this one complete opposite, I could tell it wasn’t going how it should, no one beleived my pain. Had gas and air did nothing so got an epidural which didn’t work, I think it was 3 top ups I had before I was turnt on my side and they all hit at once. I wasn’t dilating it was all very slow. They was scanning and baby 2 wasn’t doing so great. Baby 1 was finally born naturally, I couldn’t feel a thing and followed my one amazing midwife's instructions. Baby 2 flipped and went up to my rib cage, it became an emergency, I was rushed to theatre and could see the panic all round. When I came round I was given morphine which was prescribed 1ml an hour but I was given it all at once, I was an absolute mess. The surgeon spoke to my friend and said it was the worst emergency he dealt with in all his time at the hospital. Baby was born floppy and I lost a lot of blood, still to this day I have no idea why there is half hour between the twins. I had next to no help over the next few days with feeding etc and had to deal with feeding and everything almost alone. Nothing was ever probally explained to me. Now I am basically in continent now, can’t hold my bladder what so ever and I’m 38. It’s taken me a long time to get through and think about all this properly. The emergency baby was born floppy and I later found out that her birth stats was the same as a baby who unfortunately is brain dead. She is a miracle. Why was I taken in a week early? Why was the induction pushed when neither baby was in the birth canal, why after 2 previous pregnancies was I made to feel like a first time monther not knowing my body.

Excellent treatment from the skin cancer team at Whipps Cross. The consultant was lovely and even arranged for nurses to visit me at home to change my dressings after a biopsy. I have already got a date for my operation. They acted very quickly.

May 24, 2021
I don't trust consultant as we speak on phone and yet I received letter that she can't contact me. Be professional !!! Worst part she don't even say that I can pick up medicine in hospital and x-ray department and where about x ray department. Be professional or else hospital will face liabilities of patient life!!!
