Very kind to me
January 11, 2021
The staff at A&E were very kind to me when I had to go in for emergency treatment a few months ago. They used a special heated blanket to keep me warm and the nurse took the time to explain what was happening and showed me my readings on the computer. He even took the time to help several people who couldn't manage to feed themselves.
Waste of time

Last night my daughter became sick. Temperature went up 39+, her mouth was red from within and plus we had covid case recently within the household. So been unsure, called NHS and advised me to take her to Whipps cross E and A. When I arrived and informed them with all the worries that we had, they did nothing. Only checked her oxygen and temperature and it was high for a toddler 38.6 at that time. Other than that they did nothing. Didn't listen to her lungs, didn't give her anything to reduce her temperature, didn't check her for covid and instead they made us wait 10mns and informed me that somebody would call her on the phone and examine her over the phone. This is absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time. Now she still has temperature and the redness is much worse. No medicine prescribed whatsoever.

Eye casualty clinic not open on weekends. I was advised, by 111, to go to A&E on the day I called, which was a Sunday. When I arrived to A&E at Whipps I found out that the eye casualty clinic was only open on weekdays so I had to return the next day. The nurse in casualty was quite off hand saying "they always send people here".
Horrible Experience

WhippsXAmbulanceService, I usually carry an emergency button that I pay the council monthly for. During an episode of extreme pain, I pressed it and it took a very long time for the ambulance to arrive. They didn't refer me to emergency because they said I did not suffer a fall. Another time, I was being brought back from the hospital and was handled very roughly by the ambulance staff. I was in extreme pain as they wheeled me to the front gate of my house very fast down the ramp and wrecklessy turning round corners. I suffered a lot of physical and emotional stress
Excellent

I went to the A&E again because the medication I was given on the 2nd of August didn't work. After the initial examination I was sat in the waiting room to see a doctor. Someone came and ask me to come to the ambulatory department. Doctor there explained I need to see a dermatologist. He sent a pic of the issue to the dermatologist. After waiting for a little while a doctor from a dermatology department came to see me. He said it's an allergy reaction. This doctor was brilliant. He prescribed me with a different medication for my hands and face. Within a few days everything started to get better.
