Opportunity to shape future research into delirium at ACHA

Academic Centre for Healthy Aging (ACHA), based at Whipps Cross Hospital, is running a workshop that will help shape our future research into delirium—a serious and often sudden change in thinking and awareness that can affect people during illness or hospital stays.

Your insights and experiences, whether as a patient, family member, caregiver, or interested member of the community, are incredibly valuable. ACHA would like you to share thoughts and help them focus on how they can make sure their planned research is tailored to produce real world benefits. No special knowledge is needed, and you don’t need any personal experience of delirium—just your voice.

Insights for the 10 Year Plan for Health

The Good Care Framework. What does good care look like? The good care framework was developed from what local people told us in our Big Conversation.
We asked local people open-ended questions about what good health and care means to them. At community events and in focus groups we helped local people to draw out what their own vision of good care would look like.

We took what they told us and and started to use qualitative data coding to identify themes, these themes eventually developed into the good care framework and our four pillars of good care, or four aspects of what makes the difference between good care and inadequate care. We also looked at the wider issues that impact good care at a society level-the wider determinants.
