Confusing appt letter - contact is impossible
unknown
May 8, 2024
I received a confusing series of appt letters. The first was fine - given date, time and told it was telephone appt. Then received one saying changing appt (from incorrect date that I was never given) to same date as originally given, but said would be at clinic. Wanted to clarify as consultant was previously very clear it would be a telephone appt.
Email address on letter bounces back. Telephone line always busy no matter when I try. Waited 50min to get through to front of queue and when finally got through and someone answered, it cut out, but they don't try and phone you back (surely they can see my number) - so had to go to back of queue for another 50min wait. Recordings whilst waiting say to try their webchat - but its never available on the page.
Literally do not have hours of my life to wait on hold hoping that I actually get through and not sent to back of queue again. And don't want to turn up to clinic to be told its a telephone appointment. Staff the central appointment centre better!

Very good service

I had mouth cancer. Royal London hired theatre time from private Princess Grace Hosp. I was looked after very well by the nurses. My surgeon was excellent. In June I was referred. By end of July I had the diagnosis. By end of August I had the operation. It was very successful. I have had chemo and radiation therapy.

There's social distancing measures there and I prefer it now because you can do things online. I find it easier.
However, when I go to see a doctor in a face to face appointment, I am often seen by junior doctors. This makes me feel like I am some sort of experiment.

Appointment for Pain Relief

It was very stressful as I couldn't use public transport. I usually have lidocaine infusions into my veins every 4 months I didn't have one since the end of last year. All my appointments have been cancelled without a new date.
