Long wait on the phone as well as appointment
Even if you call sharp at 8 am in the morning to get an appointment, you will be help up in the queue at a position around 20-30s and would be held on the line for over 40 minutes just to get through to the receptionist. On hearing your condition they will either advice you to go to your nearest pharmacy or say you have been put on the doctor’s call list and will be contacted later during the day. No appointments given instantly and we have to stay available the whole day to receive a call from the GP and if we miss the call, they might try one more time or that’s it. I’m more concerned about the elderly, deceased and vulnerable patients who have to wait so long on the line with their condition. We need better care for the community, and faster response from both the receptionists as well as the doctors. Either increase the number of your receptionists or ask hem to receive the call promptly without wasting time chatting and loafing around. Maximum 10-15 mins waiting time is acceptable. No more. I called today on their inquiry line and was 6th on the queue, and waited 35 minutes to come to caller number 1 in the queue and waited a further 10 minutes to be answered.
