Awful

September 17, 2022
We booked (a month in advance) second vaccinations for our twins who are 5 years old. 11am slot we waited 40 mins or so but had an overall good experience. At the second 1pm slot we arrived and were told it was too late. Within a few moments they apologised when they realised I was attending with my child and the vaccination was for him. They then walked me to the reception desk. As we walked past others queuing and turned to ask where I should go to as I get bad that o was going ahead of others- the staff reaffirmed I was go to to the front of the queue. As I got there the queue marshal then announced very loudly and rudely that I had ‘pushed in’ and demanded I go to the back of the line. Having already waited 40 mins earlier in the day the timing was not of concern to me. However, I objected to being publicly humiliated by a staff member who did not have the interpersonal skills, intelligence or general professionalism to quietly ask me what the situation was. What is more, when I reacted (at the same volume she had spoken to me) she chose to engage in a public back and forth. And then announced to the queue that she was sorry ‘I’d pushed in’. My son was humiliated. There was no excuse for her behaviour, she was not overworked, her job is to manage a queue- by definition queues have several people, she was not being abused, in fact she was the one abusing. We understand that covid vaccinations are an exceptionally logistically challenging feat, but do not accept the rank amateurism, unprofessionalism and rude behaviour deMonstrated by this staff member.
