Excellent

March 9, 2023
I have been registered at this practice for many years. I find the staff extremely courteous and accommodating. The doctors in the practice have been working there for a long time and know their patients well.
I have no problems in booking appointments and sometimes get directed to more appropriate services by the staff.

Not too great

January 24, 2023
It's not too difficult to get an appointment at the practice, certainly not a telephone appointment. However, the Doctor I have seen repeatedly is so brusque and rushed, and their patient care really needs to be improved. I also had a very upsetting experience with a nurse during a smear test, which could have been easily avoided. I've also been required to come to the practice on several occasions to pick up paperwork which could easily have been shared either via email or via a secure app.

On several instances I've sought medical care and the Doctor has been so rushed and barely listened to me explain symptoms. She repeatedly tried to refuse to refer me for further treatment, for a condition I was later diagnosed with after eventually pushing for a referral to a hospital. If I had not advocated for myself over a series of appointments, I would still not have a diagnosis. I have also seen her for other appointments where she has barely given me the time of day.

The experience with the smear test was harrowing. The practice sent me a text telling me to book an appointment. When I arrived I was told this was because there was an issue with my medical records, and I may not have needed to come in. The nurse interrogated me for precisely when my last test was, which I could not remember off the top of my head. Instead of trying to work with me on a solution, she made it clear that it would waste NHS resources if the test was conducted too soon. At one point she exasperatedly said "I would have thought you'd remember when it's your own body", as if not remembering a specific date means I am not responsible for my own care.

Overall I would not recommend the practice.

Had an incredibly rude phone consultation

July 27, 2020
Called up to arrange a referral, but every time I tried to explain my symptoms, the doctor interrupted as if she already knew the answer. Every time I let her finish her point I had to explain that she was incorrect and started over. This continued to the point that we were going around in circles. The arrogance of the consultation was incredible.

When I was finally allowed to speak and explain my problems, the doctor rushed through the next steps, barely taking a breath. Her advice was very unclear and left me perplexed as to what exactly I had to do next. To understand fully I repeated what I thought the next steps were, but whenever I tried to repeat to make sure I got it right, she interrupted again saying the steps in a rushed fashion. This did not help me comprehend to the extent that I still am not clear what I am supposed to do. When I tried to again repeat the steps, the doctor told me that she had more patients to see and that the consultation was effectively over.

At this point I asked for the doctor's name as she was not clear when she introduced herself. She said her name was [removed] or at least that is how it sounded, so I asked if she could spell it. She refused and said it is on the documents that are sent out. I asked again and she continued to refuse. I then asked to make a complaint against her, and she just said look online and finished the phone call.

After looking online, I assume I was talking with Dr. [removed]

This was a frustrating experience, which is a big factor why I try not to bother with doctors. Arrogance and condescension.
