Rude and unprofessional doctors
Two of the main doctors who run the surgery are very rude, especially on the phone. They do not listen to you, do not let you talk and make assumption about things rather then listening to your concerns and going through your symptoms. Number of times, my son and I have been misdiagnosed and needed further treatment from 111 or A&E services. This could have been prevented if the doctors diagnosed the common conditions correctly and provided the correct treatment. I was in severe pain from a breast infection and they insisted that they had referred me to a breast clinic and I will be seen in two weeks, with no infection treatment and no pain control. I’ve had to put my foot down and said I need pain management, otherwise, they just wanted to end the call. Later on that day, I’ve visited the A&E and got the appropriate treatment that resolved my pain. It has been very frustrating getting the help and care i need especially for my baby with his complicated allergy history. Last time I have spoken to the same doctor, as soon as they rang for the appointment, instead of saying ’How can I help you’, they said ‘So there is a rash. You know you are a Nurse. You should know that eczema does not go away. You should know this. You have been calling the GP every few day. If you are not happy, change your GP.’ I was stunned on the phone and shocked, as well as my husband who heard all of it over the speaker. This conversation is unacceptable and unprofessional. I have never experienced such a level of unprofessional practice from any other healthcare professional. The phone conversations need to be recorded and investigated. I have to add, the receptionists are lovely and helpful. Also, GP never have appointments! The phone lines are always busy. You’ll be lucky to get through in the afternoon.
