Very difficult to get appointment
My friend doesn't speak English very well. She went to the surgery reception asking for an appointment after a traffic accident and the reception staff refused to give her an appointment and send her a link to make an appointment online. The appointment app is only open from 8.30am to 10.30am. She asked for my help and I was helping her to fill the form over the phone, I was about to submit the form when exactly at 10.30am the application closed. The appointment app is only available in English. I wonder how elderly patient with perhaps limited access to a computer or smart phone manage to make appointments too. I found the whole experience an example of medical discrimination. they never phoned for a telephone appointment. After struggling to get an appointment, My friend with very limited command of English Language was sent a text message for a telephone appointment for the 24th October 2023. Despite waiting for the whole day by the phone, with my travelling to her home to take the call and to interpret for her, the call never came.
