Twin labour turnt in serious emergency
My consultant made me be induced at 37 weeks, I went in wasted a day, the next day the scanned me and none of the babies was in the birth canal, both level out of the birth canal, they basically wasn’t ready. They induced me anyway for natural labour. 3rd labour the other 2 drug free, this one complete opposite, I could tell it wasn’t going how it should, no one beleived my pain. Had gas and air did nothing so got an epidural which didn’t work, I think it was 3 top ups I had before I was turnt on my side and they all hit at once. I wasn’t dilating it was all very slow. They was scanning and baby 2 wasn’t doing so great. Baby 1 was finally born naturally, I couldn’t feel a thing and followed my one amazing midwife's instructions. Baby 2 flipped and went up to my rib cage, it became an emergency, I was rushed to theatre and could see the panic all round. When I came round I was given morphine which was prescribed 1ml an hour but I was given it all at once, I was an absolute mess. The surgeon spoke to my friend and said it was the worst emergency he dealt with in all his time at the hospital. Baby was born floppy and I lost a lot of blood, still to this day I have no idea why there is half hour between the twins. I had next to no help over the next few days with feeding etc and had to deal with feeding and everything almost alone. Nothing was ever probally explained to me. Now I am basically in continent now, can’t hold my bladder what so ever and I’m 38. It’s taken me a long time to get through and think about all this properly. The emergency baby was born floppy and I later found out that her birth stats was the same as a baby who unfortunately is brain dead. She is a miracle. Why was I taken in a week early? Why was the induction pushed when neither baby was in the birth canal, why after 2 previous pregnancies was I made to feel like a first time monther not knowing my body.
