NHS upcoming strike action

The BMA have announced further strike action by consultants and junior doctors this autumn.

Consultants will be striking on Tuesday 19th September and Wednesday 20th September.

Junior doctors will be taking industrial action with the consultants on Wednesday 20th September and then separately on Thursday 21st September and Friday 22nd September.

In addition, there will be three further joint strike days on Monday 2nd October, Tuesday 3rd October and Wednesday 4th October. The four joint strike days will see “Christmas Day” levels of service – emergencies only.

UNITE members working for Barts Health NHS Trust who primarily undertake soft facilitator roles (cleaners, housekeepers, caterers and porters etc.) will be on strike from Wednesday 13th September to Thursday 14th September followed by Saturday 16th September to Friday 22nd September.
