Outreach Worker

Commitment: 2 days (14 hours) per week

Payment: £15 per hour

We are looking for someone to deliver a programme of outreach and engagement activities across the community to:

  • gather feedback from local people on their experience of health and social care services;
  • provide local residents with information and signposting to enable them to access health and care services; and
  • promote Healthwatch Waltham Forest and actively encourage local people to get involved in the work that we do.

The ideal candidate will embrace working in a multi-cultural community, supporting people to have a voice in shaping future health and care services.

You will need to be confident in supporting the delivery of many different outreach events and activities. . 

The ideal candidate will have an interest in championing the views of local health and care users. 

The role includes undertaking engagement activities and supporting the team in the development and completion of several health and care related projects. This will be achieved through seeking the views and experiences of stakeholders including residents, community groups, faith organisations, and seldom heard communities, NHS and local authorities.

This role requires the post holder to capture people’s needs and feedback using several engagement tools and techniques so that these can effectively drive improvements and be used as evidence.

Community Insight Researcher

Commitment: 2-6 hours per week possibly more during the summer period

Payment: £15 per hour

Our Community Insights Programme has been created to strengthen and support community research activity with local people in Waltham Forest.

About the role:

The job will involve visiting local neighbourhoods in Waltham Forest and speaking to residents about the issues that affect them, or helping them have a say about changes to local services. Anyone can become a community insights researcher. We are looking for people who come from all walks of life. You will need good English, and you may also speak a community language. You’ll know the best places to find and talk to the right people in your community, particularly those whose voice is not usually heard. You may have previous community research experience, but it is not essential, and you will be given training before starting work on ‘live’ projects. You’ll be joining a group of four community insights researchers.

This role is casual, ad-hoc hours covering day time, evening and weekend work when required. While this is not a full-time role, flexibility is essential.
