Excellent Service

September 11, 2020
One of the very best in London. Could use a tidy up (inside and out) but that's not why I'm there is it. Fantastic staff but way over worked- but that is what a hero does.

Excellent Service

September 11, 2020
Love this place, they have continued to fix me up when I need it. I have built a good relationship with this hospital over the years and cannot fault them. Apart from maybe the choice of puddings at meal times.

Pleasantly surprised

Cardiology
September 7, 2020
I was scheduled for an echocardiogram around the end of March of this year. It was understandably deferred due to COVID. As soon as services began to slowly reopen I was contacted by the cardiology unit and scheduled for an appointment. I didn't have to chase them or follow them up.; they called me as soon as they were able to. I received my results in about 7 days after my appointment. I was really pleased with the efficient service the cardiology team provided.

Hearing Aids - No communication

Hearing aid services
September 7, 2020
Prior to COVID my husband was in the process of having his earmolds for his hearing aids created. Understandably during lockdown everything was put on pause. Now that services are slowly starting to open again we have not had any updates. I've called them on several occasions but they do not pick up or otherwise inform us that they have no idea when services will resume. My husband and I would just like some clarity and better communication with what the next steps are. We went privately for an assessment but are hoping to hear back from this service before we proceed with a private provider.

Not sure

Outpatients
September 7, 2020
I was sent to Whipps Cross Hospital for a blood test. When I arrived to the hospital I was refused to be seen as the hospital does not accept GP blood test referrals.

Very considerate and knowledgeable

Gynaecology
September 5, 2020
Always attending to you and listening to what you're saying and giving their best possible advice. I had a planned c section for my second baby there and every one including the nursing staff and healthcare assistants were very nice

Palliative Care is a star service

End of life care
August 14, 2020
My husband died in the Margaret Centre earlier this year. He was supported at home for many months, before this final outcome, by a doctor and a nurse from the Palliative Care Team . Their care for me has been just as kind, compassionate and expert as it was for him. The whole team has been beyond brilliant.
Whipps Cross Hospital would have rated a 5 star review here if this service could be maintained at that level 24/7. It faltered for us at the end, not because of any lack of care but simply because it was the weekend and the depth and breadth of support and communication available could not quite be maintained. This lack (and also the transfer from A&E to the Margaret Centre) caused some unnecessary anguish. If Barts could ensure that there is 100% support all the time, they would easily earn that fifth star.
